Example files
This page provides downloadable XML files that serve as fully valid examples of the specified format. These sample files are intended to illustrate correct structure, element usage, and formatting, offering a practical reference for developers during implementation.
The supporting files are first organized by field of application (Federal Elections or Popular Votes). For simplification and clarity, the examples of deliveries for Federal Elections use a fictional canton with a reduced number of municipalities, candidates, and lists. Federal Elections files are then further divided by type of election and electoral system.
Use the table of contents below to quickly navigate to the different sections of this page.

Majoritarian Elections
For each possible round of the election, a corresponding information delivery file must be created. We provide two sets of files—one for the first round (_1r) and one for the second (_2r) round—each including an information delivery and a result delivery.
Moreover, for the second round, we provide an example of result delivery file including a write-in elected candidate (
_write_in).
Popular Votes
Example files will be provided by the end of February 2026 at the latest.
